YEAA Programs
YEAA is pleased to have supported the following programs to help provide Yukon students a quality education.
Mileage Club
Mileage Club takes rotating groups of students out of the classroom for 30 minutes of aerobic exercise, walking, jogging and/or running a course on the school grounds. This provides physical activity and a chance for our students to "recharge their batteries". During this time, classroom teachers re-teach or present enrichment curriculum to small, flexible groups of students, providing focused teaching opportunities.
Kinder Letter Books
With the generous support of the Employees Community Fund of the Boeing Company, YEAA was able to purchase the Kinder Letter Books for the 2011/2012 school year. Kindergarten Letter Books enable our Kinders to make little readers that they can then keep at home and keep reading throughout the school year. It enables our parents to have reading material for their children that they would not be able to afford to purchase. The teachers frequently request the parents to keep reading those little books with their children. Use of the Kinder Letter Books is a proven tool to help build the reading foundation that will be needed for the student to succeed, not only in reading but also in math and science, as they move through the grade levels.
